The new offices of the Direction of Vatican Telecommunications were inaugurated on April 16, 2012 in the Belvedere Palace in the Vatican.
President of the Governorate His Eminence Cardinal Joseph Bertello, President Emeritus of the Governorate His Eminence Cardinal Giovanni Lajolo, Secretary General of the Governorate Bishop Giuseppe Sciacca, Assessor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State Monsignor Peter Bryan Wells and the Director of Vatican Telecommunications Father Fernando Vergez attended the ceremony.
Following the blessing of the new premises, Cardinal Bertello unveiled, along with President Emeritus of the Governorate and Director of the Knights of Columbus Foundation in Rome, Enrico Peter Demajo, as representative of Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson, a plaque commemorating the event and expressing gratitude for the contribution of the Knights of Columbus.
In the past, the charitable Foundation had already collaborated with the Direction, in the production of the Vatican Grottoes Virtual Tour. Currently it is committed to making of a Virtual Tour of the Atrium and the Holy Door, which were restored on the eve of the Jubilee of 2000 thanks to the sponsoring of the Knights of Columbus.
